How can we combine workshops?
In all the standard drumming workshops song, movement and storytelling may be used depending on the needs of your class. Drumming workshops can utilise props and outfits made during textile or our art and craft sessions. Storytelling and song can be used as part of the sessions to engage students and to ensure they leave the session with an even deeper understanding of Ghanaian culture.

Working with 16 African practitioners across the UK, we can provide for a diverse range of school needs. In our multidisciplinary, teachers in a small school can have the opportunity for students to experience six different school workshops in one day, at no extra cost. For larger schools our expert practitioners bring the opportunity to run events on a carousel - taking the whole school off time table for the day. In addition, during assembly, break times and lunch breaks the practitioners can come together to perform - offering the students to witness some of the best African drumming and performance available in the UK.
Our African drummers for schools provide authentic experiences that truly bring the world into your classroom. As Africans it is important to us to provide an authentic experience that avoids stereotypes. We celebrate and share West Africa, specifically Ghanaian, Senegalese, Gambian and Guinean cultures. In a time where a students main introduction to Africa can be one of poverty and disease, it is a joy to bring the music, dances, stories and culture that we are so proud of.
Welcome to African Activities workshops for schools. African Activities is an established group of Artists delivering drumming workshops and art workshops across the UK. We are not an agency, workshops are delivered by us - experienced facilitators with CRB/DBS checks and £10m Public Liability Insurance.
