Nightjar dusk walk with Maxwell Ayamba

We were delighted to welcome environmental campaigner Maxwell Ayamba to the New Forest for a Nightjar evening walk, hosted with colleagues from the New Forest National Park Authority. Joining Maxwell were Kwame Bakoji-Hume, Bertram Hall and Sadat Panford, with Jim Mitchell (Access and Learning Manager, NFNPA) helping to guide the route.

We met at the Huntsman in Brockenhurst at 7:30pm and set off together into the evening. The forest gave us plenty of life and birdsong, but no nightjars this time — just another good reason to head out again soon.

Even without the churring, the walk was rich: generous conversation about access, belonging and the Nightjar project’s next steps. Huge thanks to Maxwell and to our NFNPA partners for making the time.

We’ll organise another dusk walk before long. If you’d like to hear about future dates, drop us a line at info@africanactivities.org.uk or call 023 8178 2720.
