African Storytelling for

Primary Schools and Early Years

Welcome to African Activities Storytelling workshops for primary schools.   We bring a unique range of storytelling tailored for early years, key stage one and key stage two covering traditional tales and fables right up to modern biographies and spoken word.

Workshops are available for primary schools, nurseries, infant schools and juniors.  Of course they are fully adaptable and are great for mixed ability groups. Content is tailored to meet the needs and learning objectives of your students.

If you let us know your themes and objectives we will find a story to meet them.

Primary school storytelling workshops can be a great way to instil morals and encourage debate regarding issues such as bullying. A great addition to your SMSC which can even include British Values.

Meet Anasai, a lovable rouge spider who began his life in West Africa but has now travelled with the Diaspora around the globe.

For extended learning children in key stage 2 may want to explore aural histories and the Griot tradition. In Ghana many groups have aural histories which trace migration back to the rift valley and thus to the birth of human kind.

All our workshops are inclusive with focus on engaging every child.

How can we combine workshops?

A primary school storytelling workshop is traditionally accompanied by songs and musical interludes.

There is no additional charge for mixing and matching any of our primary school workshops, but remember one practitioner can only be in one place at once!
