Welcome to African Activities events for smaller groups looking for a unique and memorable experience. We bring a range of unique activities designed to unify group

Our events are designed to get everyone involved as quickly as possible and working together as a group.  The events are fun and are a great way of uncovering people lost creativity! Of course they are fully adaptable and are great for mixed ability groups.

What do we offer?

We will work with you to ensure your event is bespoke for you weather a hen party, stag do, baby shower or just a get together. We offer drum, dance and art options for your group of friends - there is no extra charge for mixing activities. The benefit of all our events is that they are designed to unify - perfect for groups of friends and people who don’t know each other so well.

All our workshops are inclusive with focus on engaging everyone.

  • Adinkra Art

Use Adinkra symbols to get people in touch with their creativity.

Your guests can choose symbols to define their personalities or to honour the occasion.

"I had a lovely time on Sunday, really enjoyed myself (my inner child loved it) - if you talk to Kwame please thank him, I felt inspired by his story and his talent and have hung my colourful bits of cloth on the walls to remind me to be creative!!"

Your guest can choose to create a large artwork which celebrates each individual contribution whilst drawing to together to create a greater whole. Or to take home their pieces of cloth as a reminder of a lovely day out.

  • Drumming

An experienced African professional musician will lead your group in a fun session which will quickly get everyone playing a beat.

We provide instruments for every person including authentic djembes, panlogos, dundun, shakers and bells. Body rhythm and voice may also be used.

We are able to cater for large and small groups.  It is a unifying and energising experience.

  • Dancing

Balletic and athletic - We use large easy to follow movements to get the party started! We can dance inside or outside, but recommend an airy space as it is a full workout!

This option can work alongside the drumming workshop or as a stand alone option.

  • Memory Mural

Kwame is a skilled muralist and he will work with you to unlock your hidden communal creativity. You will work together on a large canvas or even a wall to create an artwork to treasure and remember. Guests can bring photos and objects to add to the mural and the creation.

What to expect?

Kwame has been running team-building workshops in the UK for 15 years. Our team of highly skilled professional musicians are African Drumming specialists able to engage and entertain - sharing a truly uplifting cultural experience not just drum beats!

Your practitioners will be wearing national dress (not a costume!) and will lead a visual as well as musically exciting session!

How many participants?

As a rough rule of thumb we advise one practitioner for every 40 participants. Maximum group size is limited by the space you have available.  We are currently limited to 1500 drums, but can use body percussion and voice with larger groups.

Please go to the booking pages to see when we are available and get your free quote. Our office is open five days a week and would be delighted to have a quick chat to ensure we get the correct fit for your event.
